Back in 2007, we decided to poll our FORGOTTEN HITS Readers ... the REAL, TRUE OLDIES FANS out there ... to determine what YOU Guys felt were YOUR FAVORITE, FORGOTTEN B-SIDES OF ALL TIME ... songs that YOU felt were worthy of more recognition than simply being stuck on the backside of somebody's hit record.
In order to do so, we had to first establish some criteria ... so, prior to opening the polls, we mathematically calculated THE TOP 200 BIGGEST TWO-SIDED HITS OF ALL-TIME based on these records' rankings on The National Charts ... awarding points for BOTH sides of the record based on their individual chart performance and then ranking them from 1-200 based on the COMBINED points earned by BOTH sides of the record. (You'll find the results of that research elsewhere on our web page.) We then determined that ANY record that made THIS Chart would NOT be eligible for our FAVORITE, FORGOTTEN B-SIDES Chart.
In addition, we established that ANY B-SIDE that had made The National Top 40 on its own could not REALLY be considered 'Forgotten' ... so THESE titles were next eliminated from our little competition. (In order for a qualifying B-SIDE to be eligible, however, The A-Side of the record HAD to be a National Top 40 Hit.)
After those restrictions had been established, however, it was fair game. We then opened the polls and took your nominations, featuring many of these songs and artists in our regular FORGOTTEN HITS Oldies Newsletter mailings ... in the process, introducing many of you to some GREATB-SIDES that you might otherwise have never had heard before.
When all was said and done, over 1000 B-SIDES had been nominated ... and ... incredibly ... over 65,000 votes had been cast!!! (I would have to say that this represents a PRETTY fair consensus of what the Oldies Fans REALLY feel!!!)
A Hat In Time B Side Soundtrack
On November 3, 2007, we counted down THE TOP 20 FAVORITE, FORGOTTEN B-SIDES on THE DAVE THE RAVE / RELICS AND RARITIES Radio Program ... and were joined on the air by many of the artists whose songs had been nominated for this honor. It was ... to say the least ... one of the ABSOLUTE highlights in FORGOTTEN HITS history ... so popular, in fact, that the program was rebroadcast on Thanksgiving Day!

However, please ALSO be aware that, in our never-ending quest to make Oldies Radio more interesting, we will most likely be open to putting together some type of radio programming that would feature the results of this survey ... so Contact Us!!!!!
